At Abacus Kindergarten, we are dedicated to fostering strong partnerships with our parents. We understand that a strong home-school connection is essential for our children's success, making it one of our top priorities.
At the beginning of the school year, we invite parents to participate in information and orientation sessions to equip them with the tools necessary to support their child's learning journey. Throughout the year, we also offer a variety of workshops, details of which are shared in our regular newsletters.
We believe in maintaining open communication regarding your child's progress. Scheduled parent-teacher conferences provide opportunities to discuss achievements and challenges. Progress updates are provided through reports on each Unit of Inquiry, along with insights from class learning journeys, individual portfolios and our parent newsletters.
We actively encourage parents to engage in our volunteer program, which further strengthens our partnership. We welcome all important adults in a child's life to participate in various opportunities, including:
- Parent Experts: Share your knowledge or skills with our students.
- Regular Volunteers: Join us during playtime to enhance the experience.
- Shared Learning Days: Collaborate with us in hands-on learning activities.
- Special Festival Helpers: Assist in celebrating cultural events.
- Excursion/Incursion Helpers: Join us on trips or support in-school activities.
At Abacus, we also welcome your feedback and support via our regular coffee mornings or our Parent Support Group. Your involvement in our school is a vital component in meeting every child’s learning needs and broadening their understanding of collaboration and culture.
